Roda de Berà to Host Drac Artcai 2026 Solidarity Chess Tournament

Roda de Berà is preparing to host a new edition of the Drac Artcai Circuit with its Solidarity Chess Tournament, an initiative that combines a passion for the game with a strong social commitment. The event, which will take place in Plaça Sant Jaume, promises an exciting day for players of all ages and skill levels, both federated and non-federated.

The tournament, organized by the Consell Esportiu del Tarragonès, has the support of the Federació Catalana d'Escacs, Esportcat, and the Generalitat de Catalunya, in addition to the collaboration of AVV Costa Daurada-Berà and the Roda de Berà City Council. Trophies will be awarded for various categories, including top classified, by sections, under 14s, veterans, and local players. Furthermore, raffles are planned with special gifts for adults, Drac Artcai backpacks and mugs for children, and orchids for companions, courtesy of Floristería Pètals de Torredembarra. The game pace will be 5 minutes plus 3 seconds per move, valid for the Catalan Elo rating.
